Small additions for the Claude set-up.
Answer from more places
The skill searches the folders you name after it:
/smalt-live-assistant ~/Notes ~/work/acme ~/Documents/SmaltEarlier folders count more. To make it the default, list them in ~/.claude/skills/smalt-live-assistant/knowledge.txt, one per line.
Ask about the meeting so far
In a second Claude Code chat, while the meeting runs:
What have we decided so far in the Smalt meeting?Claude reads the transcript through the same connection.
Search big folders fast
For hundreds of books or PDFs, give the skill its own index. It reads each document once, then searches in milliseconds.
Terminal
cd ~/.claude/skills/smalt-live-assistant
curl -fsSLO https://getsmalt.com/docs/files/agent-index.py
python3 agent-index.py --index ~/Notes ~/Documents/Smalt
python3 agent-index.py --search 'tom sawyer age'On 1,276 documents: 14 s the first time, 0.01 s when nothing changed, about 0.1 s per search. Then tell the skill to use it, in SKILL.md:
Before the first wait, run python3 ~/.claude/skills/smalt-live-assistant/agent-index.py --index ~/Notes.
To search, run python3 ~/.claude/skills/smalt-live-assistant/agent-index.py --search '<plain words>'.Watch what the skill decides
In a second terminal:
Terminal
python3 ~/.claude/skills/smalt-live-assistant/jev-question.py --followKeep it cheap
The skill runs on Haiku and asks Jev about each line, so Claude only wakes up for real questions: cents per meeting.
